Beyond Language that Cares
On 14 October 2024, The Fairer Fostering Partnership was delighted to host a symposium entitled 'Beyond Language that Cares'.
This symposium brought together over 50 organisations to look at what we could do, individually and collectively, to improve the care system and make it more child, young person and care experienced centred.
Our intention was to focus on what we could do, rather than come up with a list of demands for central and local government.
The ideas we came up with are intended as prompts and starting points for all local authorities, independent fostering agencies, children’s homes, and all organisations working in and around the care system.
As with the original 'Language that Cares' document that was published back in 2017, we hope that you will find our 'Beyond Language that Cares' document and worksheet a good starting point for discussions and workshops within your organisation. The prompts are intended to be used to start discussions across the sector.
