Job Opportunity with Action for Children: Social Worker

Salary: £32,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Part-Time

  • Contract/Hours: Fixed Term/Part Time (22.5 hours per week) 
  • Duration: 1 year contract (September 2024-Sept 2025) 
  • Interviews to be held week commencing Monday 29th July 2024.  

​About the Role
We are an Early intervention service working with children ages 0-18 years and their families in home and community settings. Our focus is on closely collaborating with children/young people and their parents/carers to address issues such as parental separation, emotional well-being, anxiety and behavioural challenges. Our aim is to support families in working together early on, exploring solutions within an approximately 12 week timeframe using the Solihull approach.  

As a Social Worker you'll be working within a small team, across Omagh and Fermanagh, providing early intervention support to families who don't meet the criteria for social services. 

As a Social Worker you'll be:  
  • Working in partnership with families to complete initial assessments to identify what their needs are. 
  • Agreeing plans to support families and reviewing these regularly to ensure support is focused and meeting the outcomes agreed. 
  • Providing direct therapeutic supports to parents/carers and young people. 
  • Linking with other professionals  and advocating for families to ensure they are availing of the services they need. 
  • Signposting families to other community support services. 
  • Attending monthly supervision  
  • Providing a high quality, customer focused service to children, young people and families.
