We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Adoption Service, based in Glasgow, covering a wide area of Scotland.

​Barnardo's Scotland Adoption Service is over 40 years old. We offer a wide variety of support to all affected by adoption and permanent care, adult adoptees, adoptive and foster families and birth parents and relatives. We also assess and support adoptive families and have been able to provide stable and loving homes for many children. This role is primarily in the area of the service providing support but there will also be opportunities to be involved in assessment and family finding.

You will be a qualified social worker with experience in working with people who have experienced trauma. You will be enthusiastic, creative and passionate about supporting people who have experience of being in care, or for who Adoption is a part of their lives. You will be able to work therapeutically with people who have experienced trauma and loss in their lives and may come to us at a time of difficulty. You will work in a way that acknowledges and validates their experiences and work with hope that their future may be different. You will also have opportunities to design and deliver training.
