Reports to:  Registered Manager
Hours of Work: Full time; 4 days of work but paid for 5 (Safer is a 4Day Week Employer)

The Company
Safer Fostering is a small but growing, not-for-profit therapeutic fostering agency. It has gained traction quickly since its inception in 2020 and is now a market leader in therapeutic care. The agency has a ‘ground up’ approach to therapeutic fostering, with all of its staff (both operational and support) completing a qualification in therapeutic fostering alongside its foster parents. This ensures a ‘whole team’ approach to supporting families using an proven model of care which ensures foster family stability. Importantly, the agency also employs an attachment therapist who oversees matching, delivers training and facilitates one to one sessions with foster parents and staff. In addition, the team has social work assistants to work directly with children and support our social workers.

As an employee of Safer Fostering you would receive a high level of training, leading to a recognised qualification in therapeutic parenting, private health care and access to a holiday caravan. In addition, the company is a recognised ‘4 Day Week Employer’ meaning that full time employees work 4 days a week but are paid for 5. Where a post is part time, there is a 20% reduction in your expected working hours without the corresponding reduction in salary.

Job Purpose
To contribute to the development of the Company’s fostering service by helping to lead the team with enhanced knowledge of therapeutic parenting, supervising of staff and ensuring that the ethos and model of the service is embraced.
To deputise for the Registered Manager.
To occasionally cover a small workload of foster families during staff absence.
To provide guidance and supervision to qualified social workers.
