Job Opportunity with TACT: Family Support & Community Engagement Worker - Fostering

Location: Homebased (North and East London)

Salary: £18,492 (£15,593 salary per annum + £450 Working at Home Allowance + £2449 London Weighting if eligible)


Hours: 21 Hours Per Week

This is an exciting opportunity to join Tact East London in a new role as Family Support & Community Engagement Worker and be part of an exciting project embedding community support, parent and child activities and deepen engagement across the region.  The Family Support & Community Engagement Worker will be leading on the establishment of community hubs for foster carers where we can provide sustained local assistance,  encourage peer to peer support,  host family activities, training and identify other interventions that will consistently enhance the skills, knowledge and engagement of our foster carers.

The Family Support & Community Engagement Worker will be expected to work flexibly including some evening and weekend hours, as well as being able to travel throughout the region, working face to face with carers in a number of locations as well as joining colleagues for training and team wellbeing events.

Overall Duties of the Family Support & Community Engagement Worker will include:
  • Establishing local hubs across the region
  • Liaising with carers to establish peer groups and support
  • Providing one to one support where needed
  • Source and engage local providers and third party suppliers
  • Innovating new ways of working and establishing local community groups amongst carers
  • Working closely with the team to enhance inclusion and engagement and raise awareness of our services
