We would like to share some exciting news and welcome our newly approved Registered Manager of the Essex Registration, Mhairi!

After joining Young People at Heart in 2022 as the Quality Assurance and Practice Development Manager, she has now stepped into the Registered Manager role.

We would like to say a big congratulations to Mhairi and wish her every success in her new role. You can take a look at Mhairi’s journey into this role below.

I joined Young People at Heart in August 2022, after spending nearly 6 years in the Local Authority in a job I loved. When I first joined the Organisation, it was a change, however this was the right move for me.

I initially joined the team as the Quality Assurance and Practice Development Manager which involved looking at policies and procedures and how we can support the best outcomes for children and young people. This role was new to both me and the Organisation, and I was proud of the work I undertook.

In March 2023, the previous Essex manager moved to a new job, and in May 2023 I stepped into the role of Team Manager, this again was a new challenge but one that excited me. It showed me knew processes and enabled me to work alongside a variety of professionals. I continued this role until December 2023, when alongside Gary and Davina, I completed the application to become Registered Manager.

I am happy and proud to share in April 2024, following my interview with Ofsted they approved my application to become Registered Manager of the Essex Registration. I am looking forward in my next chapter of my journey with Young People at Heart.

I could not be here without the wonderful team I work with as well as the management team, they have been patient, kind and supportive of my transition into this role. I also want to thank the Essex team for the ongoing support and teamwork they show which has helped this transition be as successful as I feel this has been. They continue to strive to provide an outstanding service, and we hope this is seen by the families we work with.
