There is just over one week left to go until the Fostering Network’s foster care association conference. Stronger Voices, Sustainable Futures takes place on Friday 10 May in London. The one-day conference will bring together foster carers and fostering services and includes presentations from associations and, a key note speech from the Department for Education on fostering from a government perspective. Workshops will cover themes that affect foster carers, association members and fostering teams. These include safer caring in a digital age, what is social pedagogy and how to apply it and engaging your members online. Over the past seven years the Fostering Network’s Foster Care Association Project has helped to establish a community of foster care associations across England providing information, guidance and support to new and establishing associations. These groups of foster carers network, share good practice and support each other to ensure sustainable growth, active membership and effective partnership working with fostering services. Jade Barton, Foster Care Association project development officer, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming foster care associations and fostering services from across the country to our conference.
