Safe Network has secured additional funding through the Department for Education’s safeguarding network contract. (Subject to final negotiations) We are delighted to announce that Safe Network has secured additional funding through the Department for Education’s safeguarding network contract. This provides core funding through until the end of March 2015 with additional financial contribution from NSPCC. Moving forward Safe Network will be jointly managed by the NSPCC and Children England– the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) will no longer be one of the formal partners but will remain heavily involved in the work of Safe Network as one of our delivery partners. Safe Network is also supporting CAPT’s Child Safety Week 2013 in June so there will be information available on the website. We will continue to provide a wide range of safeguarding advice, information and resources to the voluntary and community sector in England through the website, webinars and face-to-face events. The work undertaken in the regions by our Regional Development Managers and Champions will be built upon with more information available on the website. We will also be looking at working with a wider range of delivery partners across the country and developing new resources to meet the needs of the sector. Simon Massey, Head of Safe Network said "This is a very exciting time for Safe Network and we have lots of plans for the coming months. Make sure you register with us to receive the monthly e-newsletter to keep up-to-date". The Charities Evaluation Services (CES) final report will be released in May which will provide an overview of all of our achievements in the last two years and we will continue working with them over the next two years to clearly demonstrate the impact Safe Network has in supporting groups best safeguard children.
