Children's House is home to a small number of children who have experienced multiple care placement moves. Through providing trauma informed and trauma responsive care, Children's House seeks to disrupt this cycle and successfully support children to transition into a stable long-term placement. The role of the Residential Social Worker involves creating a living environment that provides a sense of safety, and belonging; building nurturing, good quality relationships with the children; and assessing their individual strengths and struggles - and subsequently identifying their needs for a long-term placement. There is a Permanent Full-Time 37hpw post available, although we would also welcome applications from candidates interested in part-time working (minimum 18hpw). Hours are worked on a rota basis, working from base in Belfast. If you have a desire to work therapeutically with children, within a family home environment – to assess the strengths and struggles of the children in our care, and to be involved in working as part of an integrated service with Barnardos Fostering NI to both match and support transition to long term placement, and you are a qualified social worker then we would like to hear from you. Salary: FTE £28,631 - £37,414 (Sleep-in Allowance of £62.64) The starting salary for this post reflects the complex, residential nature of the work. Consideration will be given to AYE candidates where all other essential criteria is met. Successful AYE candidates will start on £23,545 per annum until completion of assessed year and/or probationary period at which time their salary will increase to £28,631 per annum.
