Job Opportunity with FFP Member, St Christopher's: Independent Form F Assessors - West Midlands

Independent Form F Assessors - West Midlands
St Christopher’s has an exciting opportunity to join its West Midlands region Fostering Team. We are looking for Form F Assessors to help us assess potential foster carers as to their ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in our care.  

About the Role
  • Undertake the assessment of prospective foster carers, using the BAAF Form F, to the agency’s required standard and present to the agency ready for panel (this requires all work to be typed and corrected, e.g. spelling & grammar).
  • Making recommendations on the assessment and approval of foster carer applicants.
  • Visit and interview the three referees as identified by the carer in their application
  • Keep all written and verbal communication with the agency and any paperwork supplied by the agency confidential.
  • Make changes or alterations to the BAAF form as requested by the agency representative, including changes requested by the panel.
  • Present the completed Form F to the fostering panel.
  • Attend a minimum of 2 practice monitoring sessions with the agency representative.

Skills for Independent Form F Assessors
We are open to applications from a range of backgrounds and expertise, but you will need to possess the following skills and knowledge:
  • Degree in Social Work or DipSW or CQSW qualification.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework for foster care services.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
  • Ability to build constructive professional relationships with a variety of individuals and to positively represent St Christopher’s.
  • Excellent written skills and experience of producing detailed reports/assessment documents.
  • Ability to efficiently manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to carry out assessments.

What we offer
As part of their role Independent Form F Assessors receive:
  • Fee of up to £2000 on completion
  • Mileage of 45p per mile
