The role
Managing and developing a cluster of Action for Children's services to children, young people and their families, you'll ensure we provide high quality care in line with commissioners' expectations and contractual requirements.

The difference
You'll significantly improve young people's lives:

  • By promoting the highest standards of safeguarding and fearlessly speaking out for children, young people and their families.
  • By proactively building productive relationships with business development, fundraising and other colleagues, preparing and presenting business proposals and contributing to tenders and grant applications.

  • By leading a team of social care and support professionals, supervising, developing and motivating direct reports, carrying out performance reviews and other HR responsibilities.
  • By managing cluster budgets, tracking financial and contract performance.
  • By developing effective working relationships with commissioners, partners, stakeholders, voluntary and community organisations, providing advice and leading media briefings, partnership boards, safeguarding bodies and other local governance arrangements and community networks.
  • By embedding effective case management and supervising the cluster.
  • By making improvements in our safeguarding services, regulatory compliance, health and safety and quality standards by using performance data and other measures.
  • By preparing analytical reports and presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • By promoting our equality and diversity strategy, linking with local frameworks to promote best practice and develop appropriate action plans.

 The person
You'll need:
  • To be committed to Action for Children's defining statement, “keeping the child at the centre,” and promoting our participation standards in your work.
  • To achieve the highest standards of safeguarding, whether through direct care, support activities or reporting concerns about any child or young person.
  • To be open to other occasional duties, or changes to your role, to help us improve the lives of the children and young people in our care.
  • To work with other departments to ensure that we deliver Action for Children's values.
  • To follow health, environmental and safety policies, taking immediate action and informing senior management of any serious risk.

 The rewards
  • Minimum 29 days' holiday (pro rata)
  • Flexible working, including maternity, paternity and adoption packages
  • Season ticket travel loans
  • Company pension scheme
  • Discounts at major high street retailers.
  • Plus, there's a lot more besides.
