Member Job Opportunity: Action for Children - Head of Policy and Research

The role
We are looking for a Head of Policy & Research to join our Policy & Campaigns department. Through strengthening our evidence base and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders you will work with colleagues across the charity to deliver effective policy and research. 

You will make a difference by
  • Leading an ambitious programme of policy work and developing our evidence base in key areas.
  • Leading and managing a team of policy advisers and working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs
  • Maximising opportunities to make change happen, delivering integrated projects with public affairs, campaigns and children's services colleagues.
  • Ensuring the views of children, parents and staff are at the centre of all our work.
  • Supporting the strategic development of policy priorities.

You will need:
  • A track record of influencing decision makers to deliver policy change
  • Experience of leading and managing effective teams.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret complex data to make the case for children.
  • Experience of carrying out and commissioning new research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A passion to make a difference to children's lives.
