The role

CAPS Fostering Service is a specialist fostering service that offers attachment- based therapeutic care to young people who cannot be looked after at home.  We offer the highest standard of care and provide our carers with excellent training, supervision and support to achieve the best outcomes for young people. As a Team Manager you will be working as part of our team (Fostering Scotland) .

You will make a difference by:
  • Being part of a team of social workers, children's workers and therapists to support carers to provide stable, fun and loving family experiences for our young people.
  • Working with others to inspire, support and keep young people safe; support their connections with families, and promote a secure base and build positive memories.   
  • Promoting the highest standards of care and wellbeing for young people and guiding and delivering training to carer's and team members.  
  • By thinking therapeutically about how we care for young people now and for their future; and to ensure safeguarding through the highest standard of supervision.  
  • Having a sound understanding of legislation, policies practice and procedures, and most importantly an ability to keep the young person at the centre of all that you do.
  • Being part of a team that values relationship- based practice to make a difference to the lives and experiences of looked after young people.

You will need:
  • A degree in social work or equivalent and experience of safeguarding/ public protection .
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a social worker within children and family statutory services.
  • Experience of family placement and/or PQ training would be an advantage.
