External Social Work Assessor role for Barnardo's Adoption and Fostering Teams
Barnardo's wish to recruit Home based Independent Social Workers as external Assessors to help with our adoption work in the South West, Midlands and Thames Valley areas. We also require Social Workers to complete Form F assessments on prospective foster carers in the Midlands.
We are looking for qualified and experienced Social Workers, registered with Social Work England, who have experience of carrying out fostering or adoption assessments. Although they will work independently as External Consultants on a freelance basis, they will be supervised and supported in their work by a Practice Manager, and will be invited to training events on a regular basis. They should have good assessment and report writing skills, competent IT skills, and be prepared to work virtually as well as complete a minimum of two home visits to prospective adopters or foster carers during Covid restrictions.
Adoption work will include initial assessment calls to adopters, completing full PAR assessments and reporting to Panel, and occasional additional work to support our families, such as attending reviews or Matching Panels. Fostering Assessors will be required to complete Form F assessments. There is an agreed fee for completing this work and travel expenses are paid. If interested in either of these areas of work, please send your CV to email@example.com .
If you would like an informal discussion please contact Ruth on 07808 736859.
