Location: Plaistow - Making Connections Contract type: Permanent Hours: 37 Salary: £33,591 - £48,499 (Full Time Equivalent) plus £1,885.27 Outer London Weighting Closing Date: 9 September 2022 Interview Date: TBC Due to the upcoming retirement of the current Service Manager, we have an exciting and unique opportunity at Barnardo's Making Connections Service for a highly motivated leader with a strong commitment to a trauma informed approach to sharing personal records.
Barnardo's holds the records of over half a million people who were formerly in our historical children's and foster homes, as well as the records of a large number of our more recent Service Users. Making Connections has the crucial role of managing Barnardo's Archive including all these childcare records. The team are responsible for facilitating access to the records; primarily to now-adult former service users but also, when required, other agencies, such as Regional Adoption Agencies, Solicitors and the Police in line with relevant legislation and recognised good practice. We are looking for an experienced and social work qualified manager to join us in taking this service forward with passion and creativity. You will be joining and leading an established team who are very experienced, skilled and knowledgeable in the field of records management and retrieval with a well-deserved reputation for excellent practice in this area.
