Barnardo's Scotland Edinburgh Fostering team are looking for a Fostering Team Manager to join our service.  The successful applicant will undertake supervision and continuous professional development for an agreed number of staff, and conduct it in line with agency policy and SSSC Registration policies.  They will ensure the fostering practice remains of a high standard by quality assuring assessments, file audits and and develop practice in line with the Promise. 

As a member of the management team the successful applicant is expected to contribute towards the strategic planning and development of the service, including implementation of team plans and assessment of future resources.  

The applicant must have 

• a valid social work degree
  
• significant children and families experience and relevant fostering experience 
  
• excellent presentation, organisation, time - management, written and communication skills.  
  
• clear thinking and good assessment ability 
  
• ability to motivate, support and champion good practice 
  
• work effectively with colleagues, foster carers and other stakeholders
