Hours: 36.25
Salary: £31,814 - £41,760 (Full Time Equivalent) plus £312 Office at Home Allowance

Barnardo's aim is to improve the lives of children through influencing public policy and practice based on evidence from research, policy analysis and from our service users and frontline workers. To achieve this, we work to influence change through the Westminster Government and UK Parliament and through the media on key issues over a sustained period. We are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Lead to drive the implementation of our Westminster focused influencing activities.

Do you have what it takes to develop policy and influence change for the UK's largest children's charity that will transform the lives of the most vulnerable children and young people?

Barnardo's Policy & Public Affairs Team aims to improve the lives of children through influencing public policy and practice. We use evidence-based research and policy analysis to campaign and influence across Government and through the media. We are driven by a relentless determination to effect positive sustained change.

We are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Lead who can has a strong understanding of parliamentary and legislative processes, and proven experience of influencing Government and working directly with MPs and Peers, to support the implementation of a Westminster focused influencing plan. By raising the profile of our services in England with key stakeholders you will help to create positive change in law, policy and practice for children, young people and their families/carers. The ability to communicate to a range of audiences is important, together with strong report writing and team working skills.
