CAFIS Connecting Adopted Families Independent Services is an interesting, bespoke Post Adoption Support Service on behalf of the RAA Adoption Partnership South East, this includes Kent, Medway and the London Borough of Bexley. We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years post qualifying experience in a Statutory Social Work setting but with a sound knowledge of care proceedings and/or adoption.

  • Supporting birth families navigate care and adoption proceedings
  • Assisting birth families to work through their loss and move into a new role in supporting their child/dren post adoption.
  • Group work and working with adoptive and birth families post adoption in accessing and sharing records with  as well as facilitating reunions (Long Lost Families).

We can offer interesting and varied work within a supportive team, flexible working  and a real home work life balance not achieved with many sectors.

Applicants should note that whilst the post is home based, regular travel will be required to cover Medway, Kent and the London Borough of Bexley.

When completing your application please refer to your skills knowledge and experience in relation to the Person Specification, Job Description and Additional Information document (if applicable). This should be done with an understanding of the context of the service described.

This is a work from home contract, although there is expected travelling within this as part of the day to day role.  The CAFIS office is based in Faversham and the successful applicant will undertake duty, attend team and practice meetings as well as face to face meetings with service users there. Other venues for work are also used within Kent, and Medway.
