Member Job Opportunity: Barnardo's Senior Practitioner/Social Worker

Two exciting vacancies have arisen for Senior Practitioners/Social Workers at Pharos, a well-established Barnardo's Children's Service which works with families affected by Parental Substance Misuse. 

These are permanent Full-Time/37 h.p.w. posts working in Belfast and South Eastern Trust areas. Consideration will be given to applicants seeking part time working, contingent on meeting the needs of the service. 

The service is funded by the Public Health Agency, and we work in close partnership with the Health and Social Care Trusts to deliver a range of interventions with children and families.

If you have a desire to work therapeutically with children, young people and families to improve longer term outcomes for children and you are a qualified (have completed AYE) Social Worker or similar professional qualification (e.g. registered professional psychologist) with experience of working in a family and childcare setting, then we would like to hear from you. 

We are looking for suitably experienced staff who:
  • are interested in developing meaningful relationships with children and adults;
  • can work effectively as part of a wider team;
  • support individuals and families to achieve their potential;
  • maintain a strength based approach;
  • are committed to ongoing professional development opportunities; and
  • can work flexibly to meet the needs of children.

A waiting list will be compiled for similar vacancies that may become available across Barnardo's NI over the next 12 months. There may also be opportunities for additional hours for fixed term periods.

Salary:  £29,206 - £35,728.  This is not an incremental scale

Hour: 37 per week (full time)

Location: You will be based in either 23 Windsor Avenue, Belfast, or 40 Manse Road, Bangor.
