Social Worker Simpson Family Centre

Do you enjoy a challenge?  Did you come into social work to make a difference to the lives of families, children and young people?  If so, read on...

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified social worker to become part of a well-established, dynamic team in one of Barnardo's family centres based in Bangor, County Down.  Simpson Family Centre provides a range of assessments and education to parents and carers in partnership with the South-Eastern Trust.  Using a strengths'-based approach, we always work with hope that parents and carers can be supported to make positive changes in order to care for their children.

This is a full-time, fixed term post, however some consideration will be given to part-time working.  There is also potential for this post to be extended subject to funding.  Whilst the work with families is centre and community based, we support a hybrid model of working to include working from home as and when this is agreed.

The details of this post are as follows:

Post & Grade:  Social Worker / Project Worker 3 / P31A

Service/Location:  Simpson Family Centre, 40 Manse Road, Bangor, County Down, BT20 3DE

Contract:  Full-time / 37 hours per week fixed-term until 31st March 2023.  There is potential for extension subject to funding. Consideration will be given to part-time hours.

Salary: £29,206

Closing date: 25th August 2022

Interviews: To be held 15th & 16th September 2022

Barnardo's offers a range of additional benefits including paid sick-leave, competitive annual leave, Buy Your Leave Scheme, access to employee discounts to name but a few as well as access to fantastic training and development opportunities.  Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is at the core of our organisation and all employees have access to well-being services and supports.

A waiting list will be compiled for similar vacancies which may arise across the organisation over the next 12 months.

Barnardo's offers a hybrid working model covered under our `Work from Anywhere' Framework, therefore vacancies advertised with this as an opportunity are open for applicants to either work from home or any location within the UK, including Barnardo's Hub/Office that is a reasonable distance from your home address.
