Member Job Opportunity: Barnardo's - Team Manager, Lincolnshire Leaving Care

Location: Lincolnshire Leaving Care Service – Sleaford
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: £26,996 - £37,414
Closing Date: 24 April 2020

Barnardo's is commissioned by Lincolnshire County Council to deliver leaving care services to young people leaving their care.

We are looking for an experienced Social Work England registered social worker to extend the leadership team.

Working in Lincolnshire, based in Sleaford you will line-manage Leaving Care Workers who directly supporting young people aged 16 – 25 years old.

The Team manager will need to be able to demonstrate:
  • The desire to listen to children and young people and help them to be the best that they can be
  • Experience of partnership working with stakeholders and organisations
  • Experience of prioritizing work and delegating tasks appropriately
  • An understanding of the issue facing by young people leaving care.
  • Work with hope at all times.
  • An understanding of the legal framework. Experience of working with looked after children and / or care leavers in a statutory context
  • Embed and support a trauma informed workplace.
  • Awareness of the government's latest strategy for supporting care leavers
  • Experience of working in partnership with colleagues in Children's Services and other agencies
  • Experience of safeguarding and protecting vulnerable young people and supporting others to do so.
  • The ability to write good quality reports
  • The ability to meet performance monitoring requirements
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and processes
  • Be a creative and innovative leader.
  • Experience of working in both the statutory and voluntary sectors is desirable.
  • As is experience of supporting, professionally supervising and appraising staff.
  • Ensure reflection and daily maintenance skills are used to support self-well-being at all times.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children will also be an advantage.
