Member Job Opportunity: Community Foster Care - Finance & Family Matching

Job Location: Gloucester
Contract Length: 12 Months with possibility to go permanent
Pay scale: £19,300 to £22,500
Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Closing date: 16th Jan 2023

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • To support the Finance Manager with all finance functions as required.  This includes (but is not limited to): accounts receivable, accounts payable, direct income and expenditure, petty cash etc.
  •  Prepare and input supplier payments and reconcile against accounts
  • To Liaise with Foster Carers about payment matters and prepare annual foster carer statements. 
  • To record and monitor petty cash and expenses claims including reconciliations.
  • To use the organisations accounting software confidently and appropriately.
  • To complete all tasks related to daily banking, invoices and data entry.
  • To support the administration of corporate credit cards and expense claims.
  • To assist colleagues, as required, with the weekly purchase orders.  Making purchases where appropriate approval has been given.  
  • To work within the framework of the organisation’s Finance Policy.
  • To run the organisation’s Family matching process, matching Children in care with foster families
  • Monitor the referrals inbox
  • Collate information on referrals 
  • Use the organisation’s shortlisting criteria to filter referrals
  • Send referrals that meet shortlisting criteria to relevant Supervising Social Workers
  • Make appropriate recordings on database
  • Ensure correct paperwork is collected e.g. IPAs 
  • Collate and format foster carer profile formats
  • Co-ordinate effective referral responses, through the finalising of expressions of interest.
  • Follow up outcome with foster carers.
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team to develop this process and ensure the organisation is best placed to make quality expressions of interest.
  • To ensure a process is in place so that this process is always active.
  • To provide administrative support to the social work team, supporting with any administration relating to the delivery of foster care placements in conjunction with the Registered Manager and the Business Development Manager.
  • Support with the administration of placement planning meetings.
  • To lead on implementation and on-going oversight of the process for Young people moving in with families
  • To lead on implementation and on-going oversight of the process when a young person moves on. 
  • Develop a knowledge of the organisations pricing structures and work in conjunction with the service manager and business development manager to cost support work and fostering packages.   
  • To support Supervising Social Workers with cost agreements and Individual Placement Agreements.
