One of the most heartening aspects of my work, has been witnessing the meaningful relationships that have blossomed between our staff and the children and young people we support. This has been abundantly evident as I have visited services across the organisation throughout the year. These connections are not merely professional; they are the building blocks of trust, support, and understanding that lay the foundation for brighter futures. The bonds forged have provided these young individuals with more than just a safe space to call home—they have given them a sense of belonging, love, and stability. In our dedicated staff, they have found mentors, confidantes, and friends who genuinely care about their well-being and growth. It’s the little moments—the shared laughter, the comforting words during difficult times, and the genuine interest in their live, that have made all the difference. Our collective actions have shown these children and young people that they are not alone, that they are valued, and that they have a support system cheering them on every step of the way. There are also many accomplishments to celebrate as we reflect back on this year of incredible activity and endeavour, not least of which the establishment of our first London Accommodation Pathfinder Homes and the development of our new Edge of Care Work on the Isle of Man – helping to keep families together. Both of these will feature heavily in the launch of our new Strategic Plan, which has been shaped and crafted through the year following conversations with young people and colleagues. The new priorities that will shape our journey for the next five years have been collaboratively co-produced and I am excited to be launching this early in the New Year. For now, as we gather with our own families during this festive season, let’s take a moment to celebrate the family we’ve created within St Christopher’s. Each of us plays a crucial role in the collective effort to provide our children and young people with the opportunity for a brighter and more promising future. And for those of you that are inspired to help us in our work, please consider donating to our festive campaign, which will positively impact the young people we support this season and beyond. For now, let me take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones happy and heartfelt Season’s Greetings and a New Year filled with joy. Source: www.stchris.org.uk Comments are closed.
