About Us St Christopher’s (Isle of Man) provides children’s homes, supported housing and specialist support services, all designed for young people in care, on the edge of care, or leaving care. We work alongside young people to support their development, grow their confidence and reach their full potential. About the Role We are looking to grow our small Trustee board who support and advice our committed Senior Leadership Team as we start to develop the group’s strategic plan for the next five years. Becoming a trustee can be a wonderful experience. You will not only be giving something back and making a real difference to the lives of the young people in our care, but you will also meet new people, learn about a new sector and it can help your professional development by honing your strategic and decision making skills. We need a range of skills on our Trustee board to ensure our good governance and as well as able to act strategically and in accordance with good governance, we are keen to hear from Trustees with experience in:
Due to St Christopher’s work, all trustees must have an enhanced DBS. The Trustees meet four-five times a year during office hours. In addition to this, you will be expected to visit our homes and services on a regular basis and may be asked to sit on one of the Group’s sub-committees which meet up to four times a year virtually in the early evening. This role is unremunerated but reasonable expenses will be paid.
