Member News: TACT wish to appoint a Trustee with an Accountancy and Auditing experience

Role: Trustee with an Accountancy background/experience
Location: Homebased – Working Remotely- UK wide 

Commitment : 2 – 3 full days and up to 7 half days per year  (4/5 Board meetings per year, 2 face to face and 3 virtual. Board runs noon – 5pm.  All subcommittees are virtual)

As a ‘not for profit’ organisation, TACT puts the needs of our children and carers first and look to appoint individuals who are as passionate about fostering as we are. Our core work involves providing high quality and well supported fostering for children and young people in the care of local authorities. Working in partnership with local authorities from our offices across England, Wales, and Scotland, we provide creative, effective and outcome-focused services. We also campaign on behalf of children and young people in care, carers, and adoptive families.

TACT wish to appoint a Trustee with an Accountancy and Auditing experience who will add extra skills and experience to the Board in order to help us navigate the increasingly complex environment in which we operate.  We are looking for an ACA qualified accountant and welcome applications from across the UK.

We especially welcome applications from those with care experience and are committed to having a board with a diverse and varied background and actively encourage applications from women and black, asian, and minority ethnic members of the community who are under-represented on the board

In this voluntary role, you will be help the organisation:
  • plan for the future and develop the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • challenge the executive management team in their plans and how their decisions will add value to TACT’s strategy and organisational management.
  • communicate professionally with a wide range of people including colleagues, carers, and third-party organisations to establish professional working relationships which focus on the ongoing development of the TACT.

The successful candidate will have...
  • Experience in Accounting & Auditing
  • ACA qualification or equivalent
  • Confidence in using all Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, OneDrive & SharePoint
  • Excellent communication skills to suit a broad range of professional relationships.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures. data protection and information security.
  • Ideally have experience and knowledge of fostering and care experience

TACT prioritise wellbeing and as part of this role the Trustee will have access to:
  • Employee Assistance Programme (including free CBT counselling, remote GP appointments, physiotherapy, mental health support and second opinions).
  • One off free appointment with a Menopause Consultation from Menopause Support
  • Free subscription to calm
